Historic Water Street Inn

6 P.M.  SOCIAL HOUR:

BUTLER PASSED HORS D’OEUVRES

Ahi Tuna, Prosciutto Stuffed Mushroom, Brochette

Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit – Single Barrel Bourbon – 101 Proof

Each barrel is hand-selected at the peak of maturity before the bourbon is poured out and bottled.  Jimmy Russel selects Kentucky Spirit to be fuller bodied, with rich vanilla flavors and a hint of sweetness.  It has a complex layering of almonds, honey, blackberries and leather.  The finish is almost aristocratic – long, dark, lingering, and

crying out for a fine cigar.

7 P.M.  START WITH:

Shrimp Stuffed with Crab Meat

Wild turkey Rare Breed – Barrel Proof Bourbon – 108.4 Proof

A unique marriage of Wild Turkey 6, 8 & 12 year stocks, which give the whiskey a rich, exceptional flavor that is remarkably smooth, considering its high proof.  It is assertive with hints of light oranges, mint, and tones of sweet tobacco.  The finish is long, warm and nutty and lingers in the mouth with hints of hot peppers and well-toasted whole bread.

Seafood Gumbo

Russell’s Reserve 6 year Rye – 90 Proof

The six-year old, small batch rye whiskey has a rich, tawny color with notes of almond and all-spice.  Its crisp, lively taste works in a smooth, complex palate, destined to impress whiskey aficionados with the pepperyness of an expertly crafted aged rye whiskey.

Coffee Rubbed Bone-In New York

dressed with a Ancho Mushroom Sauce accompanied with Potato Au Gratin and Asparagus

Wild Turkey “Tradition” 14 Year Bourbon – 101 Proof

Only 30,000 bottles are available worldwide.  Aged for 14 Years in new, white oak barrels with the heaviest level of char.  After aging in the ‘sweet spot’ of the oldest warehouses, the liquid was bottled at 101 proof in order to retain the true bourbon flavor as has always been done at the Wild Turkey Distillery.

The nose includes warming notes of molasses, raisins a mellowed oak married with the fresh essence of peeled oranges, sweet corn, honeydew melon and luscious vanilla.  The taste is bold and crisp, filling the mouth with hints of rye, white pepper and orange zest.  This bourbon builds on the warming notes in the nose and develops flavors of toffee and vanilla.  The finish is very long with toffee and caramel lingering along with subtle undertones of oak and dried tobacco.

Homemade Apple Pie with Cinnamon Ice Cream

American Honey – 71 Proof

An exceptionally smooth liqueur blended with pure honey and real Wild Turkey Bourbon.  A deep golden hue, it has a nose of ripe citrus and a smooth palate of sweet honey and caramel with subtle cinnamon and spice notes and a long rich finish.

One Response to “December Bourbon and Cigar Dinner”

  1. Jeff Starkman says:

I attended the last cigar/scotch dinner and had a good time. I seem to remember that when we were paying for our dinners, we were charged an additional $10. I am not sure what this charge was for, but found it a bit misleading. Can you explain the additional $10 charge and what it was for? Also, will it be cahrged this time? If so, why not just make the price $79.95. I also dont remember being able to choose how I wanted my steak prepared, rare, med rare, etc.
