Butler Passed Hors D’oeuvres

Served with ~ Spice Tree, Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

Our innovative and highly acclaimed blended malt whisky returns in a new edition. Made from Highland malt whiskies which we age in bespoke casks with new French oak heads of varying toast levels. It yields a malt whisky of richness and complexity.

7 P.M.  START WITH:

APPETIZER

Chilled Shrimp Cocktail

With Scotch Whiskey Cocktail Sauce

Served with ~ Great King Street, Blended Scotch Whiskey

More than just a new brand, Great King Street is a mission, a mission dedicated to reviving interest in one style of whisky only: Blended Scotch Whisky. This is the style of Scotch whisky that combines flavourful single malt whiskies with delicate, elegant single grain whiskies.

SALAD

Smoked Duck Breast Salad

Baby Greens Tossed with Raspberry Vinaigrette & Black Pepper Crusted Goat Cheese

Served with ~ Flaming Heart, Vatted Malt Scotch Whiskey

Flaming Heart is back. Every few years, when we have the appropriate combination of aged whiskies, we are able to blend and bottle a new edition of the award-winning Flaming Heart. This is our fourth. It is a big, smoky malt whisky with rich, concentrated vanilla and spice character. It is unlike any other whisky, owing to the combination of distillery whiskies we use and the variety and quality of the casks.

ENTREE

Prime Rib of Beef

With Au Jus, Twice Baked Potato and Sautéed Green Beans with Slivered Carrots

Served with ~ The Peat Monster, Blended Malt Scotch Whiskey

For those who love big, rich, peaty and smoky malt whiskies, this is your whisky. Bottled at 46%, “The Peat Monster” combines extremely smoky malt whisky from Islay with medium-peated Highland whiskies to create a balanced and approachable monster, but a monster nonetheless. Enjoy!

DESSERT

Poached Pears in Gran Marnier

Over Orange Pound Cake

Served with ~ Orangerie, Scotch Whisky Infusion

To make Orangerie we begin with great whisky. We use a soft, sweet blend of Highland single malt and single grain whisky from Fife. Secondly, we use only the freshest, highest quality oranges and top class aromatic spices. Importantly, we zest the fruit by hand and use only fresh zest in our infusion. Only the hand-zested peel of really fresh Navalino oranges gives you the lively, vibrant flavours that are the hallmark of Orangerie.

July 5th & 6th – Jennifer Licko Carrere

Jennifer Licko is primarily a Celtic Folk singer, dancer and multi-instrumentalist who skillfully plays the piano and guitar, accordion and bodhrán (Irish drum). She is a trained vocalist who has that certain quality that makes for easy and pleasant listening whether she is singing an unaccompanied lament, a rousing pub song, or puirt-a-beul (Gaelic mouth music). She blends a stunning vocal range with a sensitivity and warmth that turns her audience into Celtic music fans.

BedlamLogoJuly 12th & 13th – Bedlam

We’re a duo who love songs from Irish, Scottish, and English traditions, as well as traditional

Irish dance music. We try to combine the best of vocal harmony and instrumental virtuosity,

without sacrificing the soulful quality that has made this music last for centuries.

Hounds of FinnJuly 19th & 20th – Hounds of Finn

A high-energy Irish musical entity forged from the roots of Celtic and American traditions. Based in St. Paul, MN, the Hounds perform Irish folk-rock and roots music from around the world, along with our own original material-topped off with a sprinkling of traditional Irish and Scottish tunes.

July 26th & 27thTom Dahill

Tom Dahill and Ginny Johnson are superb entertainers with a fantastic repertoire of old Irish songs and dance tunes that you won’t hear from anyone else. They have command of many instruments between them, Irish button accordion, concertina, uilleann pipes, fiddle, whistle, bodhrán, guitar and they sort of juggle these instruments between them to suit the sounds to fit the venue as they go along through their performances. This is the music that is part of the soul of Ireland.

June 20th, 2013

Historic Water Street Inn

6 P.M.  SOCIAL HOUR:

BUTLER PASSED HORS D’OEUVRES

MSB

The key to appreciating a true strong bitter: A balance that you’ll savor. Our pronounced hop usage has been compensated with smooth malt perfectly. Presenting our inaugural brew, with hints of its English roots and a whole lotta Minnesota depth to explore.

7 P.M.  START WITH:

Appetizer

Pickled beer boiled shrimp with napa cabbage slaw and garlic chive oil

 High Road

Come join us on the high road. We’ve got our own special beer up here, High Road Everyday Ale, a sessionable ale that is complex yet approachable. Brewed with Galaxy and Wakatu hops, High Road swirls with the aromas of tropical fruit and notes of citrus. The flavor is clean and dry with just a hint of sweetness. Not a blonde or a pale ale, High Road Everyday Ale is an individual

Salad

Spinach and arugula salad with grilled pears, apple smoked bacon and crispy shallots

Cask Conditioned High Road With Hops and Citrus

Think High Road with the jus the right amount of citrus and hops, perfectly conditioned in cask. Mmmm

Entrée

16 oz veal chop with roasted peperonata and sherry gastrique

 Wanderlust White IPA

Wanderlust: A strong impulse or desire to wander, travel and explore. For us, Wanderlust is a perfect name for our limited beer series featuring special seasonal and one off release from the Badger Hill team.. This is our opportunity to wander the beer landscape, trying new styles in small batches. We hope you dig them as much as we do!

Our first release in the series is a white IPA. Unfiltered, this beer pours pale white, with a solid head. Citrus notes abound with a clean bitterness and a citrus, slightly tart finish.

Dessert

Chocolate stout layer cake with chocolate espresso frosting

 Foundation Stout

Taking cues from old English and Irish Stouts, two brothers from the Land of 10,000 Lakes landed on their own perfect brew. The reveal? A sweet, malty roast that hints of coffee, caramel and chocolate—and finishes off clean with touches of American hops. In other words: not too schmaltzy, not too bitter.

2011 Property of the Year (50 Rooms or Fewer) ~ Water Street Inn, Stillwater

The Property of the Year awards are presented to properties that provide outstanding customer service and that distinguish themselves as leaders in the community and the industry. The Water Street Inn is housed in the historic Lumber Exchange Building in downtown Stillwater. Built in the 1890s by lumber barons during the boom years of logging on the St. Croix River, the structure was equipped from the beginning with modern heating, plumbing, electricity and one of the first elevators in the state. The building featured 10 large walk-in vaults, which were used to house the wealth of the rich lumber families. Over the years, the building has been home to a variety of companies. In 1994, three local innkeepers worked closely with the Minnesota Historical Society and National Trust to restore the building’s historical qualities and begin converting it to a lodging establishment. The Lumber Baron’s Hotel, Restaurant and Conference Center opened in 1995. Part-owners Chuck and Judy Dougherty bought out their partners in 2003 and renamed the business the Water Street Inn. The inn features 41 guest rooms, all with double whirlpool baths and most with fireplaces, along with fine dining and casual dining restaurants, a pub and banquet/meeting rooms for up to 300 people. A $1 million renovation of the ballroom and guest rooms was recently completed. Owners Chuck and Judy had previous experience in the lodging industry, owning the Rivertown Inn B&B in Stillwater from 1987 to 1999. In 1993, they purchased another historic home in Stillwater, which they renovated and operated as the Cover Park Manor. They continue to run the manor, where they live with their four daughters
