A high-energy Irish musical entity forged from the roots of Celtic and American traditions. Based in St. Paul, MN, the Hounds perform Irish folk-rock and roots music from around the world, along with our own original material—topped off with a sprinkling of traditional Irish and Scottish tunes.

 

December 14 & 15 Langers Ball

The band plays fun, fast-paced aggressive punk rock Irish music. Music from Langer’s Ball is often featured on podcasts from around the world such as, Paddy Rock Radio, Shite ‘n’ Onions, and Celtic Rock radio.

December 21 & 22 – Tom Dahill

Tom Dahill and Ginny Johnson are superb entertainers with a fantastic repertoire of old Irish songs and dance tunes that you won’t hear from anyone else. They have command of many instruments between them; Irish button accordion, concertina, uilleann pipes, fiddle, whistle, bodhran, guitar and they sort of juggle these instruments between them to suit the sounds to fit the venue as they go along through their performances. This is the music that is part of the soul of Ireland.

 

December 28 & 29 Paul & Lorraine

They have seamlessly filtered traditional and contemporary Irish music through their long touring and recording history in the American music tradition.

Born in Belfast Co. Antrim Ireland, Barry has been playing music since his early teens performing in Ireland, England, Denmark, and Sweden currently based in Virginia U.S.A. He has crisscrossed the U.S.A. many times from Cape Cod to Florida, Maryland to Minnesota. He has played with Coribb Folk, Pennywhistle, and as a solo artist for the former Irish Prime Minster Albert Reynolds and President Ronald Regan. He is never short of a toast, song or story so come listen sing and party with Barry Nelson.

Anthony Glackin: (acoustic/electric guitar, bass, tin whistle, harmonica, vocals) Hailing from Tyrone in the North of Ireland Anthony has been playing most of his life and performing on stage for the best part of 15 years, he is an avid song writer, penning countless songs and 3 recording albums. He is no stranger to television, and radio, performing on multiple entertainment programs in Ireland and the U.S. Anthony has toured extensively throughout Ireland, Europe and America. Showcasing his unique voice and intimate songwriting ability along the way, his music reflects the diversity of the numerous roads taken and eclectic influences from the traditional music of Ireland to New Orleans Blues & Jazz. The Langer’s Ball is a 2-piece Irish group that has been performing in and around the Twin Cities since July , 2007. Featuring Michael Sturm on guitar, mandolin, and vocals. Hannah Rediske on piano, accordian, and penny whistle. The Langer’s Ball performs a wide variety of traditional and contemporary Irish songs and tunes. Since they began performing just over a year ago they have already played over 70 shows at various locations, including Toronto’s “enter the haggis”, and the Iowa Irish fest.

November 21st & 22nd: Paul and Lorraine

Brian Miller (guitar, vocals, Irish flute, whistles) Nathan Gourley (Fiddle), Norah Rendell (flute, vocals) The Two Tap Trio had its genesis in the Fall of 2005 when Vancouver singer and flute player Norah Rendell and Twin Cities guitarist Brian Miller found themselves both on musical pilgrimages in Ireland. 2007 finds Norah and Brian both living in Minneapolis with a debut duo album of gorgeous traditional and contemporary folk songs and driving Irish dance tunes, Wait There Pretty One, out in October. The addition of young fiddler Nathan Gourley makes for a live show that fans of Irish music with strong traditional roots and top notch musicality won’t want to miss
