Charlie’s Music Schedule for June 2012

May 21st, 2012 by chuck

Live Music for Charlie’s Irish Pub located in the Historic Water Street Inn, in downtown Stillwater

Charlie’s Pub features live music every Friday & Saturday night from 7:30-11:30pm

May 25th & 26thTiller Black (FKA Spring Heeled Jack)

This lively Celtic quartette form St. Paul features Greg Mosner on guitar and mandolin, James Plattes on violin, Mark Donovan on stand up bass and vocals, and Kevin Brown on guitar, mandolin, and vocals.

June 1stHounds of Finn

Hounds of Finn play Irish Rock and roots music from around the world. It’s mixture of original songs written and performed by both Pete McCauley and Leslie Rich, sprinkled with some traditional Irish and Scottish tunes brought to you by both Michelle MacGregor on fiddle and Pete on Mandolin.

June 2nd – Highland Paddy

Highland Paddy is the Twin Cities Newest Celtic music sensation, playing Irish rebel songs, instrumental jigs and reels, and a mixture of good time songs to make your night a hard one to remember the next morning. Fiddle, pennywhistle, mandolin, bodhran, guitar, harmonicas, percussion… all combined for a great time of singin’ along, chorus-shoutin’, foot-stompin’ hard-drinkin’ traditional Irish music, bluegrass, old time and a little bit of everything.

June 8th & 9thTom Dahill

. Tom Dahill and Ginny Johnson are superb entertainers with a fantastic repertoire of old Irish songs and

dance tunes that you won’t hear from anyone else. They have command of many instruments between them,

Irish button accordion, concertina, Uilleann pipes, fiddle, whistle, boudhran, guitar and they sort of juggle these

instruments between them to suit the sounds to fit the venue as they go along through their performances.

This is the music that is part of the soul of Ireland.

June 15th & 16thPaul and Lorraine

Paul and Lorraine have been playing Irish music together for a couple of years now, starting with the rouge folk band Folk Underground and then splitting off to form their own duo.  Something for everyone lots of drinking, lots of losing your love, plenty of Death, Doom and Destruction & happy little nights in the Pub. Not to mention some of the best Irish Fiddle Tunes going.  They like to take requests & will play almost anything, if they know about half of it.

June 22nd & 23rd - Bedlam

We’re a duo who love songs from Irish, Scottish, and English traditions, as well as traditional

Irish dance music. We try to combine the best of vocal harmony and instrumental virtuosity,

without sacrificing the soulful quality that has made this music last for centuries.

June 29th & 30thIrish Brigade

Featuring Mike Wallace and Joe Smith. A consummate stage performer, Mike has been happy to spend his time on stage with such great performers as Peter Yeates, Steve Mulligan, Joe Burk, Noel Hill, Paddy O’Brien, and Larry Nugent not to mention his original partner in the The Irish Brigade, Gerry Goodwin god rest his soul, or current partners Sean Conway and Darren Crossey.
